Your First State Bank of Uvalde Visa® Check Card has been replaced with a

New Debit MasterCard®

 

You deserve the very best in financial convenience. First State Bank of Uvalde has sent you a new Debit MasterCard® to replace your existing card. Once you receive your card you will need to activate it by following the directions on the card mailer. Your current Visa® Check Card will no longer work on April 21, 2014.

PLEASE NOTE: If you have automatic or recurring payments deducted by a third party linked to your current card, it will be necessary for you to give them your new First State Bank of Uvalde Debit MasterCard® number for all payments deducted beginning April 21, 2014.

Q: When will my new First State Bank of Uvalde Debit MasterCard® arrive?

A: Cards will be mailed April 7, 2014 and can be activated beginning April 9, 2014 by following the directions on the card mailer.

Q: When can I use my First State Bank of Uvalde Debit MasterCard®?

A: It will be active on April 21, 2014.

Q: Will my old Visa® Check Card still work?

A: You current Visa® Check Card will no longer work on April 21, 2014.

Q: Why are you replacing my existing card with a Debit MasterCard®?

A: We believe MasterCard® allows us to serve you better.

  • Cards can be used worldwide where MasterCard® is accepted.
  • Cash can be accessed at thousands of ATM locations.
  • Card transactions are deducted directly from your checking account for easy record keeping. 

Q: Will I receive a PIN mailer?

A: No. You will follow the directions on the card mailer to activate your card and select a PIN. To activate or change your PIN call 1-800-992-3808.

Q: What if my old card stops working and I have not received my new card?

A: Immediately call Account Services at (830) 278-6231.

Q: What should I do about charges automatically billed to my old card?

A: You must provide your new card information to companies that automatically bill your card. If your checking account information is an option you can also provide your routing and account number.

Q: Will my checking account change?

A: No. Your checking account will not change or be interrupted in any way.

Q: Will I be able to still get cash at ATMs?

A: Yes. Use your debit card to get cash at ATMs.

Q: How do I use my new card to pay for purchases?

A: Your new card will be used in the exact same way as your old card. MasterCard® is accepted worldwide and can be used for everyday purchases and shopping online.

Q: I have received my new MasterCard® in the mail, however, my card has been lost or stolen, what do I do now?

 A: Should your new card be lost or stolen, please contact First State Bank of Uvalde at (830) 278-6231 during the day or after hours at 1-800-472-3272.

A: You can report a lost or stolen card during business hours or by calling Account Services at (830) 278-6231. After hours please call 1-800-472-3272.
