VITA AND FIRST STATE BANK PARTNER TO OFFER ASSISTANCE

First State Bank continues to support the VITA program in Uvalde and the surrounding area. The VITA project provides assistance to individuals who need help filing their income tax returns. The organization’s volunteers work to try and help their clients get the maximum refund for which they are legally entitled to receive. This year, the Bank is partnering with VITA in an additional way by providing Financial Literacy training to VITA clients. The training will focus upon budgeting, saving and financial planning. “We want to help people make good choices regarding the handling of their tax refunds,” said Financial Literacy Specialist Vennessa McLerran. “We want people to have the financial tools they need to build a better life.” Pictured from left to right are: Vennessa K.
